Testimonial for ' The Maths Story '
The Maths story software has many merits. The first and the most important one is that it can be used as an independent learning software which other e-learning portals are not able to do. It can be used by the students independently without the presence of a teacher. The students can learn and explore the learning of Mathematics on their own.
The questions assigned for the students to do are random and they are not multiple-choice in nature. It also marks the students' workings line by line and alerts the students instantly when a mistake is made. The students can learn from their mistakes and they can keep practising until they master the content of the topic or sub-topic. This is its second merit.
In Regent Secondary School, The Maths Story has been used as an independent learning Mathematics software for all its all lower secondary students for the past two years. This is part of the school's Differentiated Instruction research programme. The students have benefited greatly from the use of the software.
Two research papers have been presented by the school in 2007 (NIE-CRPP Conference) and in 2008 (APERA Conference). The research would not have been able to be carried out successfully without the use of The Maths Story. Many visitors to the school have been impressed by this software.
